The World in Chennai
By: lciazza17
When I went to Chennai, I noticed the sites and smells. The fast paced rickshaws, loud buses and the smell of gas and fuel in the air. I was riding backwards in the rickshaw and got to see the front of epople's faces, women in their saris, driving small bikes, the bus drivers honking their horns (a common occurence) to tell people to move out of the way..
We drove to the country, where I met with some orphans in a small village. They lived in small huts, among many cows and many other children, all vying for space and familiarity among each other. They wore smiles although they had nothing, and found solace in each other's company. However, they loved our visits. When we woudl come, they would all crwod around us, and topple us to the ground. They loved to sing and dance and teaching them songs, something very simple to do, was one of their favorite things to do..After a long day out in the hot sun, dripping of sweat, dirt and playing with the kids, we would dirve bakc home in the rickshaw and stop for bottle of Pepsi. Of course, not refridgerated, cold Pepsi like in America..But the real Pepsi, amongst the people in one of the most populous countries in the world, the Pepsi that is just enjoyed for the sake of being a Pepsi and that it quenches your thirst. No gripes abouit it; just good tasting, warm Pepsi that none of these children get to try after a long hard day in the sun.

I go:
Mom I'm okay, I'm just thinking.
She goes:
No you're not thinking, you're on drugs! Normal people don't act that way!
I go:
Mom just give me a Pepsi please
All I want is a Pepsi, and she wouldn't give it to me
All I wanted was a Pepsi, just one Pepsi, and she wouldn't give it to me.
Just a Pepsi.
